This is another AP Art History inspired project that I did for our end of the year Salon de Refuse. Even though I had never sewn a dress in my life I decided to try to make a strapless sun dress in the style of Piet Mondrian, a Dutch artist from the 1930s famous his paintings usually solely consisting of thick black lines and boxes of primary colors on a white or gray background. The dress is made out of a thick cotton white canvas decorated with similar colored canvases and black satin ribbon.
